Community Event Background
A brewery is typically relaxing, and I suppose yoga is, too, but I got more of a workout here than I expected with one of the top yoga teachers in Colorado. Talaya Thomas, founder of the Steamboat Movement Festival, shares her insights on what Yoga means to her, while teaching breathing and flexibility to the class. She ended the session with great beers from Mountain Tap Brewery!
It was cool to see how Talaya offers permission to attendees to speak their minds about what yoga means to them, which helped to set an intention for the class exercise period we spent on and above our yoga mats. This class was a great example of a “suggested donation” event, meaning anyone could attend for free, but most people tipped the instructor for the great event that she hosted.
The peak experience for this community event involves two opportunities for participants: stretching and drinking beer. For most participants, their peak experience is stretching and learning appropriate techniques to enhance strength, core stability, and flexibility through the guidance of an in-person instructor teaching the class.

Attendees at this ice fishing community event liked to attend because they met new people who are interested in taking care of themselves both physically and mentally, with a focus on relaxation, clarity, and inner peace. Several of the people also came to have a beer after the yoga class, since this was a partnership offered inside of a brewery facility.
